Applied Energetics Wins U.S. Army Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer Contract for Development of Directed Energy System

TUCSON, AZ /ACCESSWIRE/June 21, 2022/ Applied Energetics, Inc. (OTCQB:AERG), a leader in ultrashort pulse laser technology, is pleased to provide further details on its $172 Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contract. $000 with the U.S. Army for research and development of a directed-energy system capable of defeating threats specified by the U.S. Army that it reported on June 8, 2022 in a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The objective of the contract is the delivery of an ultra-wideband infrared (IR) source.

Under this contract, Applied Energetics will model new approaches for eye-safe transmission of ultra-wideband infrared laser pulses to electro-optical sensors. Electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors are imaging systems used for military applications. In addition to this contract, Applied Energetics received a multi-year grant from the Department of the Navy, Office of Naval Research on June 1, 2022, to develop an optical system capable of defeating customer-specified threats for integration on the US Marine Corps platforms.
