Zimbabwe Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Deploys Community Networks to Improve Digital Communication
The Posts and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) says it wants to deploy local community initiatives to build, control and operate telecommunications network infrastructure to facilitate digital communication.
POTRAZ announced this in a public notice in which it invited individuals and companies interested in creating community networks and requiring funding from the Authority to submit their proposals no later than June 5, 2022.
“The invitation is open to any Zimbabwean representing their community who wishes to create a community network in their province for the benefit of their local community.”
The proposal should outline the detailed technical design, funding, full business model proposal covering post-funding sustainability mechanisms, technical expertise, project timelines, detailed CVs of critical project personnel and possible references , skills development training, detailed plan on community engagement and the life of the project and beyond.
The proposal should also include licensing measures and partnerships.
“Those who wish to participate can submit their proposals to email@example.com, no later than June 5, 2022. Proposals received after this date will not be considered.”
